Compressor systems by Kazancompressormash are put into operation at Yugo-Zapadnaya CHPP


Two compressor systems manufactured and supplied by Kazancompressormash (HMS Group) have been put into operation at Yugo-Zapadnaya CHPP (St.Petersburg).

State-of-the-art compressor systems on the basis of integrally geared centrifugal turbochargers GCM3-107/7-31 with 45,996 Nm³/h capacity, 30 bar discharge pressure and 3150 kW electric motor are completed with all the necessary accessory equipment, including automatic control system, nitrogen station, compressed air station, as well as the methane-nitrogen mixture extraction unit.

Compressor systems were supplied under the second phase of the Yugo-Zapadnaya CHPP construction project and are designed to compress and supply natural gas to the gas turbine of PGU300 power unit. Compressor systems were designed by R&D Institute NIIturbokompressor (HMS Group) with application of the most advanced technical solutions and API 617 standard requirements.

After the project completion the management of Yugo-Zapadnaya CHPP expressed gratitude to the specialists of Kazancompressormash for execution of the challenging technical task of substitution of import equipment earlier foreseen by the project.
