The representatives of HMS Group take part in the International pumping, compressor and vacuum equipment conference

The representatives of HMS Group R&D Department have taken part in the 3rd International Rotating Equipment Conference which was held within September 14-15 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The senior R&D engineer Elena Knyazeva has successfully presented the report «Сomplex approach to use the splitter blades impellers to improve the centrifugal pump performance». She described the results of a complex research of a double suction pump (ns=55) energy, strength and vibration characteristics changing due to application of a splitter blades impeller. The calculations were made with application of the advanced simulation methods (Ansys, PumpLinx, CFTurbo). During the research a number of crucial aspects were revealed, which need to be considered in case of splitter blades impellers application, and the advantages of an integral analysis of centrifugal pump parameters on the stage of engineering were demonstrated.

The International Rotating Equipment Conference has been held since 1973 uniting over 850 experts in pumping and compressor equipment. The conference is organized by one of the leading European machine-building associations - VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, Mechanical Engineering Industry Association).
